Ian Simmons – Guitar
A refugee from 70’s rock, Ian spent the wilderness years of the 80’s wondering where all the music had gone, only to find it gradually resurfacing in the 90’s and noughties. Heartened by the interest of some of the Yoof of Today in yesteryear’s guitar heroes, he has crawled back out from under a stone and blinked, tortoise-like, in the sunlight, with hope in his heart and a spring in his step.
Ian’s played with White Horizon, Weapon in the very early ‘80s, and after a long absence came back with Dunkirk, Backlash, Doghouse, and joined Fox Force 5 in May 2010 to complete the line-up.
Influences are Gary Moore, Ritchie Blackmore, Michael Schenker, Angus Young, Steve Hackett (I am looking into more modern role models, but there aren’t many…), amongst others. He’ll try his hand at most things, however, to try to bring a touch of the classic to the modern.
